I have been given a DVD that has a movie on it without chapters.

It's just one long playback, which gets frustrating when you want to jump forward quickly or find something specific.

How can I add chapters to it?

maybe IFOEdit? Not sure about that though. If you have a capture card, you could play the DVD and capture it. Most capture software will allow you to manually insert chapter points or automatically create one every 5 minutes.

Hmmm - sounds a bit more involved than it need be.

I am not sure exactly how to do it but the maddening thing is that I feel I am almost able!

    Thanks.

    Well yes.

A friend gave me a copy of DVD Lab Pro but it has that many features that it's hard to find the one I want / need.

    Thanks.

Doing this with DVD-Lab is simple. Once you have the movie added to your project, double click on it to open the Movie 1 tab, right click on the movie, go to the Chapters option, and select how you want to add the chapters. Alternatively you can use the little player window in the lower right to add them using the button with the + on it.

I finally decided to read the directions and discovered the same advice.

    Thanks :)
