I'm looking for a cheap laptop able to run Call of Duty 4. Ideally, the laptop would be under £450. Could somebody recommend anything? Required (minimum) Specs CPU: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 2.4 GHz or AMD(R) Athlon(TM) 64 2800+ processor or any 1.8Ghz Dual Core Processor or better supported RAM: 512MB RAM (768MB for Windows Vista) Hard Drive: 8GB of free space Video card: NVIDIA(R) Geforce(TM) 6600 or better or ATI(R) Radeon(R) 9800 Pro or better
will this one do? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HP-Pavilion-d...goryZ177QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I wouldnt bother looking at minimum specs for the game...thats for the game to just...work. Not at all be "playable" as you or i see fit. Laptops are simply too limited...to get a decent rig, your looking at, at the VERY MININUM $1,200-$1,500 bucks for a "gaming" laptop, much less one to run COD4 well, when you can get 2 or 3x better performance with 1/2 the cost via a desktop. COD4 is not realistic for a laptop unless your budget is unlimited. BTW, if you get a desktop, don't get a low profile PC. Save yourself the trouble of gay proprietary crap. Get the big case.
One of my friends has a laptop currently worth £600, and it can't play COD4 very well at all. Realistically, you need to be spending four figures to get a game that plays COD4 at all well. If you don't have that sort of money stick to a gaming desktop.
