I haven't seen this tidbit of info posted so here ya go... After you rip, compress (if needed) and burn your DVD copy, instead of quickly scanning it on the computer jumping from chapter to chapter start DVD Shrink and let it run through it's first quick analysis - takes 2 maybe 3 minutes. If it analyzes it ok you have a good copy. If it comes across a bad spot (where the DVD might pause, stop, etc.) it will toss up a CRC Error message at you. I've been doing this v3.0b. It's been 100% truthful to me. You can do this with any other ripper I suppose, but DVD Shrink is the only one I know of that does a quick analysis of a DVD as a first step. ...try it, you'll like it...
Very nice tip! I've also read that if you use Decrypter and watch the read speed as it rips if there are glitches it'll slow the read way down. Kinda the same method
VERY cool tip. I always do a quick scan, like you said, chapter to chapter. This is MUCH better. I will file that in the "handy things to know" section of the ol' grey matter. Thanks , Hogan
