I have hundreds of old radio shows to transfer from hard drive to cd. I was told I could get a hundred 30 minute shows on one cd. to achieve this i have to select data on my Mojave burner. Will these cd's then play in mp3 player? My dvd player will play mp3,but not when i select data. What is my problem? Thanks
Now that's interesting.. I have a disk with 100 old radio shows on it.. but it's a dvd because a cd wasn't big enough. Are you 100% sure these are mp3 files?
like you said.. "what is my problem" .. you burn a mp3 disk as a data disk so pass.. will your player read a normal audio cd burned on these cd's? and I hope you are finalizing (closing) them.. no multisession??? not enough information to work with.. really...
The list of problems you could have is large. Burned disks do not reflect as will as pressed disks. That could be part of the problem. Maybe they are almost good enough to read. Mp3 players are better made to read burned disks. My first advice is install the free version of media monkey and burn a CD disk with it. That will eliminate a half dozen problems you might have and see if the CD plays in your player. Most DVD players play CDs. A women's voice is only about 2 Khz. That is well preserved at only 25 CBR. At 25 CBR you can get lots of hrs on a CD. Depending on your original BR, it may approximate the DVD.
Thanks to both of your replies.I bought some of the cd's and put them on hard drive. Now i want to put them back on cd,and they won't fit.Unless like I say,I use the data selection on Mojave. My dvd player will play mp3,but not ones I used data on.
That is probably your mistake. The bigger mistake was how you took them off the CD. Something is REAL WRONG. If they were audio CDs you should be able to fit 5-10 of them on a CD in mp3 format. Talking about not being in the right pew or church, you are not even on the right planet! What you said doesn't make a lick of sence. I am sure you left out all sorts of crutial information in your description of what you did. Can you play your audios from the computer?
I believe I have seen the error of my ways, the ones I was trying to burn were some mp3's I downloaded off the web.I would imagine that is the problem. As i burned an original cd I bought, and it worked fine. But now another question:mp3 is mp3,would it matter if a got it from the web?
If it doesn't play it on your computer you can't burn it. See varnull was not off by much. It only seemed a stupid question to you. I can think of a dozen ways to screw up an mp3. Depending on what part of the web you got it from it might not be an mp3 at all but a spy bot meant to take over your computer when you try to play it. Limewire has all sorts of things that look like mp3s that do not play. However, most are just mp3s. I still can't figure out how you can be close to the same size with a 20 to 1 compression.
I don't know what's going on.I am on the verge of throwing this thing out a window.I think I'm too stupid to have a computer. I've never ran up against anything like this before. But thanks
Take a deep breath! It is easy as long as you do the right thing. That is so much easier you use tools that require little thinking. More than half the persons using computers in the world are too stupid to use one but that doesn't stop them. Don't let it stop you! Wisdom come from experiance. The best learning experiance is when something does not work. You are learning a great deal today! What are you using to rip your original CD? That is REAL important!
I have used several, can't really find one that is easy(just clck n go)I have used audacity i think, Ashampoo6 and others. This media monkey works great at burning, will it ripp as well. Now the cd i bought from ebay will not fit on a single cd. I was assured that it was cd not dvd. Is there a way though to make a dvd play in a cd player?
audacity is a sound capture wave editor, it has nothing to do with ripping. I would not use WPM or itunes to rip. Both have hidden abilities that are not in your best interest. MM is an OK ripper use that for now. EAC is the best free ripper you can get. Rip at 320 or what ever then burn back to the CD bought from ebay as an mp3 disk and see if it fits. Post if it fits or not.
