hi, thank you for your advice and the links (see my queation dated 15/03). I did download the chopping the file splitting software and it did do the job, the two files were in mpeg format with the circle and a play triangle in the middle. I am still having problems with the second file. When I open my cd writer software ( i rec'd this with my sony cd-writer)I choose the 'vcd option' and I can see both 3files, the original 1 hr 30min and two smaller half files. From the two new chopped files I can drag the first file into the copying area and managed to burn the first half of the film on to a cd, but the system won't let me drag the second file down. Any Idea? also, If I do download the software for buring cd as you suggested, does this mean I will lose my link of the original burning software or will both work together? Many thanks

I'm assuming you split the movie so it could fit on two CD's. When you try to drag the second file down the first one isn't still there is it? What does it say when you try to drag the second half down?

When I drag the first file, the software shows a 'analysing' window and it goes from 0% to 100% and the file is xfered below ready to rip. Same thing happens with the 1hr 30min film but the file is too long so I don't go any further. When I drag the secongd file (containing the remaining film) the system does not show the analysing window and the file does not transfer below. The first file containing the first half can be seen as well as the main 1hr 30min and the third file. Do I need to delete the first half? Many Thanks
