1080p playback has always been smooth and fluid when I had XP installed. Never an issue so I know the hardware is capable. I recently did a fresh install of Windows 7 x64 and now 1080p playback is so sluggish its unwatchable. 720p is ok. Hardware is a an HP DV6500 laptop with an Nvidia 8400M GS videocard. Core AVC is installed and running properly. I'm trying to figure out what is causing this since the hardware is identical. I'm thinking it must be something to do with the new Nvidia driver since its a newer version I installed for Windows 7? The Nvidia driver I have installed is: Version: 186.03 WHQL Release Date: 2009.06.09 Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit Language: English (U.S.) File Size: 136 MB Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!
Try changing the video renderer. I had a lot of problems with Windows 7 until I realized what might be causing the problem. What video player are you using?
