    Hi,
I am helping a pal install a Digibox -T onto an old choru$ install.
I have installed quite a few of these boxes in past but using existing 'mesh'type aerials or the 'integrated' yagi type aerial's.

This install has a metal 'bird beak' type antenna which i am not familiar with at all.I believe they are for TV and broadband.
Do these work in the same way as the mesh type aerials ? Do they convert to the same freq range ? Is there anything else i should note ?

The power inserter is also the PS for the old box.Even with the old box switched on (power inserter turned on) im still getting 0% signal.

Anybody got any advice for this type setup before i get out the ladders and go up on the roof.

    Thanks in advance

I think you are referring to a V plate or corner reflector .
They are a metal plate bent in the shape of a V.

They are used in areas near a transmitter as they have a lower gain than a mesh aerial, typically ~13db.
The downconverter sticks through this ,its the brains behind the operation.
You will need to know the frequency range for the downconverter,if its an old analogue one it might be different to the modern Digital range.
I suggest you connect the cable into the back of a tv and do a scan to see if you pick up any analogue channels and check the frequencies if feasible.

Thanks Fano.Thats the one all right.

I got my problem sorted. It was a bad power inserter.

For information, the downconverter converts to standard choru$ freqs.
