for all chorus viewers beware if your not paying and have a dodgy box, they are running adds on certain channels for a competition(in the hope that people viewing without paying ring them, hoping to win a prize)if you see any weird looking ads flashing across the screen and have any doubts do not phone in(as you will be getting a visit if you do)they had one of these scams some years back(where they advertised free teeshirts if you phoned in)if your not sure ignore it.good luck.
wasnt that in a film too the cops send out invites to the bad guys for a meeting with some famous baseball players and they turn up and get CUFFED lol lol what was it now.... was it the film called "SEA OF LOVE" ps ... whats that number i want to ring it lol T
the last time it was done some years back, they broadcast on a channel that was not available to any paying customer(say it was a test channel)the only people who could get this channel had tapped in boxes(so thats how they were caught)i would assume the same principle here(that if your paying the ads wont appear on screen, only the people with hacked boxes will see the ads)i am told its a very funny looking ad that comes across the screen, clearly put there by computer and not by the channels themselves.i would have thought if all paying customers saw the ad and rang up,only to get no free prize(they would be very angry)and how could chorus then tell who was paying and who was not(clearly only non paying people will see it)hope i was of help with my message.
I don't see how that would be in any way possible. To broadcast a seperate channel via a seperate stream that only dodgy boxes could receive?? Don't see how it's possible.
I was of the opinion that it was broadcast on a channel, that is not set up on the official boxes, but would be picked up by scanning (as you would with an unofficial box). So if you scanned for the channels you would get these ones coming up with the message, and if you had an official box but did no scan you would not come across them.
It is possible all right as Vir*** do it in the uk telling people they are viewing an illegal set top box
this ad was last seen on cbeebies in the last 2 weeks, and i know of people who were caught, regardless of how they do it,it is being done.
this scam was used in the states to lure what the fbi call illegals to comr forward by offering a competetition with a big prize, the entrants who come forward are then kicked out of the Usa ,just thought i might add this bit of info
