Alright I purchased a few things during black Friday on sale, this is what I have so far: Monitor: http://www.amazon.com/eMachines-E211H-bmd-21-5-Inch-Widescreen/dp/B002FCNP3A Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119196&cm_re=storm_scout-_-11-119-196-_-Product and a keyboard/mouse Here are the other parts I'm considering some of which have been suggested to me on these forums. MOBO: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128401 GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102819 PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139008 CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115215 RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145263 HDD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136283 wireless: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16839121008 on another forum someone suggested this mobo instead http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128405 even though it's a micro? I was also suggested this ram http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227324 I have windows 7 pro free through school and I'm not much of a gamer. Any suggestions would be appreciated, I think I'll need more fans for my case and a dvd burner too but not real sure if i'm missing anything else.
Stick with the parts you have, not the mico mobo and OCZ RAM. The video cards a bit on the weak side but if thats all you need, seems like good choice. As for fans, it never hurts but the Scout is a good case as it is, so the fans could most likley wait if you really need to. Id go with one of these fans: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835185005 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835185006 I have the second, the 21F on my CPU cooler, and it moves ALOT of air, and I cant even hear it until my ear is nearly next to the fan. Either of these DVD drives are good: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...mpareItemList=N82E16827118030,N82E16827136167 The LG is more recommended around these forums but I have heard alot of good reviews on the Sony as well. All in all, you did a great job of picking parts.
I don't think I'll need anything to high powered for a graphics card but I don't want it to hold me back to much either. Would there be a better option for me? For the most part I don't understand graphics cards that much because I don't really play games so it hasn't really been a point of research.
If your not going to do anything thats going to need a strong gpu, then you should be fine where you are. And with a core i5, the system should be able to handle playing HD movies, and light multi-tasking.
