This thread and the people trying to go after Microsoft make me laugh. You've got to be kidding me?

"Wel I h4x0rd my xbox 360 s0 I c@n pley burnt games. Now eye can't enstal to hdd. N0 fare!!!"

Good god why are people even bothering? You opened the xbox and modded it, breaking the terms of agreement. Honestly if you knew this was going to happen (referring to the new punishments of being banned) would it have stopped you from modding your xbox?

    NOPE.

well, i have read through all the posts and i must say, all of this could have been avoided if you would have stuck to your wave three games and preserved the jtag hack "like i did", all of this drama is useless a game is a game is a game, similar to what and why Microsoft puts on the show that people come to watch, no right minded indidual will attempt to go on live with a modded console this weekend, it's surely a trap. if microsoft does go to court it will not only be good for modders, but it will also give nintendo and sony some fresh ideas.

    god speed.

Well if you open the xbox, the only thing microsoft can do is refuse to fix it for free as you bought it and it is your own personal property. If you took this to court you could probably get away with it if you had the originals, if you don't then you'll probably have more court cases AGAINST you from ALL the game developers that you copied games from, then say hello to jail :D

we DO have grounds for suit. 3 years in a row someone on yahoo said this happens PRE-HOLIDAY. And recently with MW2 released about a week ago and HALO3:ODST out there a month ago, some lawyers tend to agree.

Se7insins has a link to the case if you want to join.

They boost sales, claim its piracy when its people fixing the M$ HW faults and then BIG BAN hammer comes down.

I could care less about the HW than the GUFF and media HYPE and LIES and Effed up TECH SUPPORT they offer.I can replace the box for $50.I can restore my profile in minutes and fool the system to think I made a new account and spend years playing when I cloned a HD.

I can go at it all day with anti-ban hammer activities.
    That's not the point.

And yes, I will still repair busted units, but for now that means if you want LIVE, you will have to wait a long arse time until we know its safe.I never really cared for it (LIVE) to begin with, but it is nice to play online.

I do have a computer, so its really not a BIG BIG loss.

Its not the ToS that pissed me off.Who cares if they ban a console? Its that they did it at the wrong time, and I know a crap ton of people who will agree with me in saying that the mod is a fix for a busted original, whether its chipped, cracked, or just wont boot.

It is UNFORTUNATE for M$ that they label us LEGIT users with pirates.

The disc says 'do not make ILLEGAL copies'.FEDERAL law says a ARCHIVE copy is NOT ILLEGAL.We shouldn't have to MOD the HW in the first place to play the backup to begin with. IF M$ was smart, they would learn from this and either offer FREE replacement or give US a backup COPY. FREE is the key word.Im not paying then $150 for a drive swap that doesn't fix the issue.

I dont care if the unit is under warranty or NOT.It is DEFECTIVE by DESIGN and NO HW upgrade to elite or whatever NOR newer dashboard with better detection of copies can fix that.THAT my friends is GROUNDS for SUIT.

Even hardware makers are jumping on this. M$ Picked the wrong time to do all this crap. I started this thread a while ago and since the banning of my console I have purchased a new 360 to play online. MW2 was my main reason for doing so and I must say that even though the game is nice, it wasn't worth the price I paid as well as the new xbox I bought was DEFECTIVE out the box. What kind of Microcrap is that. I have since returned the 360 and MW2 to Walmart and purchased the PS3 version. Yeah their network is not as robust but it serves its purpose. I have found a reasonable substitute and I hope M$ loses a big market share to Sony so they can get a better network.

Number one argument for the modders out there. Microsoft is accusing you of a crime and in the good old US you are innocent until proven guilty, they cannot legally take any action against you or your console until they take you to court and prove you did what they are accusing you of. Period

Incorrect. They are accusing you of violating their Terms of Service, which is not a crime, and therefor they are able to take action against you.

So I'm guessing the only reason any of us make "backups" is so we can play them on live right? Thats what people are arguing, stop banning features unrelated..blah blah blah.

Well thats not true, they ban hdd features now so you can't get achievements from them offline hence the "corruption" of gamesaves and whatnot.

Why can people not understand that Microsoft is doing this to try and scare more people away from modding. Apparently just taking xbox live wasn't enough, so they upped the stakes. Well I'm guessing its working to some point because people are throwing a hairy fit.

Example "I never play xbox live so idc if I get banned! Hahahaha"

Now you have to worry about losing hdd features they are trying to screw everyone over in their own special way.

True you can argue well I'll never connect to xbl so ha. Well my answer to that would be that Microsoft is hoping eventually you'll want to connect that modded console for some dashboard update or an update for a game, or to dl content, update your gamerscore whatever.

All of you crying about this should get over it anyway because theres a hardware mod to fix this now so you can restore all the lost hdd features taken away by big bad Microsoft.

Stop whining about getting your consoles raped. Jesus Christ, don't you guys realize that many of us are saying the same thing over and over. You download way more than what you can afford in your burger king salaries the expect the console to function like normal. Microsoft should be putting a lawsuit in those who mod their consoles. Just thank god that none of us are sharing a jail cell with bubba for modding our consoles.

yeah, yeah....18yr olds and mcdonalds wages.... SHOVE IT.

Im 28 and retired military. I can do what I want with my money.Im not complaining. M$ can ban all they like and I can profile clone all day.

Im not wasting 150 when I can get a box on ebay for $50.

All Im saying i we DO have a right so sue BASED on suspisious activity on M$ behalf regarding MW2 and HALO3-ODST with coinciding BAN wave. M$ did this intentionally.A ban wave can occur at any time, they chose this time so they would FORCE people into buying more hardware.

Not all of us are criminals some of us OWN LEGIT copies and can't play them after awhile AFTER the gamestop warranty runs out(you have to pay MORE $$ for that, BTW....games are expensive enough.)

No, Im not buying a PS3.I already have TWO BDR's in the house.Im not getting a third.Yuo still have to pay for online content with PSNEt anyway, seen it first hand.

Read before you post. MODs need to close this thread. Im sick and tired fo the whining by these incessant 18 year olds.

I mean I can simply put this in a couple of different ways. They have the right to ban and to get their money back that you, other, and I that we downloaded illegaly. Otherwise, you will probably end up playing soldier with your buddies when all of these gaming companies stop making games due to bankruptcy. That is basically how this sort of thinking can lead to in the future.

Keep your console, if you don't have a ps3 then you can just simply buy a ps3 with the money you were intending to pay microsoft then you don't have to whine about getting banned.

    Great post my friend.

People need to come to a rest and admit to themselves that what they are doing is not legal. While microsoft should have avoided those modified hardrive bans, they had every little right to do it since this just created another exploit for a console that they need to make money for.

Let's not even talk about all the counterfeit versions of Windows.
