clean install xp

    Hi

    I have just done a clean intallation of windows xp. however as much as i try i cannot get my printer to install. its as if the system is not recognizing it in the usb port, can anyone help me on this as im a bit of a newbie on doing installations etc. could this be something in the bios causing this

    You need to install the drivers first, what is the make and the model of your printer???

    As Rav mentioned, some printers require you to start the install with the CD first, and then plug in the printer during setup.

    thanks for the replies, turns out i didnt know that the usb ports would not work until i had sp1 or sp2 installed, everything ok now
