I have an MP3 CD that I have had for a while. The surface of the CD got really dirty, my fault, and now there are certain songs on the CD that can't be played. Some work, and some don't. There are no major scratchs its jsut dirty. I have tried cleaning it but I can't seem to remove any of the dirt. I haven't really tried any cleaners or anything because I don't know what to use. I don't want to damage the CD because there are some songs on it that I can't replace. What do you guys suggest I use to clean the surface of the CD?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
    thanks

Toothpaste works really well.. Cheap toothpaste not the stuff with the tooth whitening crap or the kind that has the scrubbing 'grit' texture.

Brasso also can be used just make sure you work the Brasso in slowly in semicircles and remove ALL the excess Brasso. Wait till it dries , buff off the film and try the disc

I tried the dish soap idea, but it didn't work. The problem is, there are these 6 white splotchs on the CD surface. I can't tell though if they are on the first layer of the CD or deeper under the surface. They look like water spots that would appear on a car after it rains. Some of the songs on the CD work...and then some don't. I will try the tooth paste thing and also try the CD cleaning kit.
