    I have been trying to back up both of these movies, and have looked at the numerous threads of others who have experienced problems as well. I usually use dvd decrypter then shrink and burn with decrypter. For harder DVDs where decrypter experiences Read Errors, I use DVD FAB decrpyter then thrink and burn with dvd decrypter. I have never needed any other steps until now.. I am able to use DVD FAB and when I try to open the files in Shrink I get an error that says :

    dvd shrink encountered an error an cannot continue

    failed to open file" C:\documents and settings\Rose\Desktop\DVD FAB\DVD\Video_TS\VTS_12_1.VOB"

    Can anyone help and tell me what will fix this problem, I have never encountered this before? I have read threads on a FIX VTS. Will this fix this problem and allow shrink to process these files? If so when in the process should I use this software? Thanks

    try vobblanker after decrypting and prior to shrink. or use fixvts at the same point. ripit4me will do the job, it's basically automated with "one click mode". see urls in signature below for downloads and guides. let us know what works for you.

    Make sure that you are using the latest version of DVDFab Decrypter...if you rip in movie only mode you can skip the VobBlanker/FixVTS step and continue on with DVD Shrink.

    First, use the latest Fab always make sure to check for updates before you get started then use Shrink and burn with which ever program you choose Voblanker is not needed unless you wish to remove some things

    Thank you everyone for all of your help. I just wanted to update you on what worked for the Break up. First, I went and re installed the previous version of DVD FAB Decrypter. The latest version was not able to handle this movie when I would put it into shrink, I was getting errors. When I backed it up via the earlier version of DVD FAB and shrink it worked perfectly. However, I still went ahead and made another copy of it using the RIPIT4Me way to see how it worked, and that was also successful. I will try to back up Click tonight. Thanks again to everyone who was patient and helpful.

    @rosej4

    glad to hear you got things working. interesting that an earlier version of fab worked better than a later version. did you ever try vobblanker after fab, prior to shrink? sometimes that makes a major difference. it only takes 5 minutes, and also gives you the option to delete warnings, trailers, extras, etc.

    ripit4me seems pretty reliable in my experience. just keep updating.

    let us know how things go with click.
