    I have been using Clone dvd2/Any Dvd software for several months now, I have purchased the registration keys for both and update the software everytime I get an email. The Dvd's I have burned have been working just fine, recently about an hour into the burned movie it locks up, and won't go on. this was happening here and there now it is every movie I burn. I have had my burner checked out which is a Pioneer 110d, and it is fine, I have updated the firmware for it, and was told by the tech at the place I purchased the burner from that I had my jumper in the wrong spot, so he changed it. since then no movies I have copied will work, but I have also tried Dvd Shrink and all those movies as just fine. I don't understand what is going on, I also purchased a new burner Lite On- that work just fine with the Clone dvd2 software????

    it's funny that your drive worked and then all of a sudden you're having problems with freezing or locking up while watching the DVD. Sounds like a media problem more than a drive problem. I would suspect that tech that switched the jumpers! After all you said the drive was working! And maybe you switch media and now the backups are having problems! Here is a media guide:
    http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm
    when buying media read the lable and find out where it was made! The better media is [bold]made-in-Japan[/bold] and you can't go wrong with those! Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden, Sony, Maxell are just a few top notch brands to buy! You won't have problems with freezing or skipping or pixelations with those baby's! AnyDVD and CloneDVD2 are top notch software that does a great job for what it's made for! I would concentrate on the media being used and that should fix your problem. Oh.... just a few tweaks;

    1. burn at half the rated spead of the DVD R (if you have a 16x disk burn no higher than 8X, etc).
    2. Don't put any paper labels on the DVD. this will also cause reading errors that will give you freezing, skipping and pixelations
    3. Do not use Memorex! crappy media and should be avoided at any cost!

    there are plenty more things that might be of interest to you. Read this:
    http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm

    an looking up your drive I notice this:

    just read the first comment about your drive! Soooooooooo..... maybe it could be your drive ....... but this sounds very uncommon! Did this drive come with your computer or was it an add on or replacement?

    Thanks for all your help, I actually have tried different media, I had Sony's, and I have also tried Maxell also, and it locks up on both media types, I will try the lower speed to 8x's and moving the jumper back, the dvd/cd rom drive was puchased after I bought my computer.
