I hope someone in here can help since Slysoft has not answered me about these problems. I have had a problem burning with this program since day 1 and have decided not to use it. I once again have been trying to use it since I've removed Nero from my computer and can't find the box since I moved. Movies that I have been trying to back up with this software have been freezing at the burning stage or if the do burn, they freeze during playback. Like I said, this has been happening since I have been using the software. This happens with all sorts of different media.....I currently have TY's that I am using.

I have the most current versions of CloneDVD 2 and ANYDVD installed. the the burners I have been using are:

NEC Corp, DVD R/RW & CD-R/RW, Model #ND-1100A to read

    and

Generic, DVD+-RW Drive, Model #DD0405, Made in China for the Accesstek Corp to write.

These do work with Shrink and Nero just fine, but like I said, I've lost the box somewhere in the millions of boxes in the garage....

    Can anyone please help?

Are your copies of AnyDVD and CloneDVD licensed?

Are the drive firmwares up to date?

Yes, they are licenced, I bought them over a year ago. I love AnyDVD, it is possibly the most useful tool one can buy.

Yes, both drives firmware are up to date. I'm at a loss for this....

CloneDVD2 is problematic with some discs, such as Sony's. At least older versions were. I don't know about AnyDVD as I've only used CD2.

I'm at a loss to explain this though myself. Have you tried ripping with AnyDVD and then using some other program, like IMGBurn?

I'm thinking it may be a problem with the ElbyCDIO drivers. Have you tried completely removing CD2 and then reinstalling it? If that doesn't work, try removing it again and deleting the following from your c:\windows\system32\drivers directory:

    ElbyCDFL.sys
    ElbyDelay.sys
    ElbyCDIO.sys

Make sure you install the most up-to-date version of CD2.

    Dunker,

I uninstalled, deleted the driver you told me to and reinstalled. I tried again this morning and the same behavior occurred. I though it might be the disk, so I changed it out and the same thing happened. I thought it might be the burning media, but it wasn't that either. In both cases, they froze when CD2 was writing to the disk with 10 minutes left to burn and then lock up completely.

These are brand new disks from meritline. They have been burning fine when I used Nero, but CD2 will not completely burn them or skip or freeze once they complete burning.

Any other thoughts from anyone? Does AnyDVD support keep an eye on these forum posts? I would really like to get this software working...

Thanks for all of your help Dunker.

I suppose there can be incompatibilities. How about using AnyDVD itself to do the rip, then using DVD-Decrypter or IMGBurn to do the actual burn? (You can even use DD or IMGBurn to do the rip too, if you feel like it.) Use DVD Shrink to shrink if necessary.

It sounds like when you uninstalled Nero maybe something was taken out that both programs share (a shared file or something!) I would use this free program: RipIt4Me! it's great easy and does all the new DVDs out there! Download the programs and follow the guide:
    http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/360110,

if you have your serial # for Nero you can reinstall the stable version of Nero 6:

Before udating to 6.6.0.18 I would save the serial #, uninstall Nero, then use the cleaning tools : http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/eng/Clean_Tools.html
then do a registry clean up and defrag...... then reboot!

    install package one:
    http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe
    then install package two:
    http://www.nero.com/nero6/eng/Patch_for_NVE3.html
reboot and you're good to go!
