i don't see how AnyDVD would need a whole forum all to itself personally; i can't comment on Clonedvd as don't use it

that is a good idea to have a clonedvd and anydvd forum..

as right now all the info is scattered from here to hell and back
it would be nice to keep it in one board like DVD Shrink forum
but it might be a problem as it might be against the laws in finland
to have said board on afterdawn web site..

I have a suggestion for AnyDVD: update AnyDVD to where it will have FixVTS updated in its ripper. Right now, RipIt4Me is blowing AnyDVD away by parsecs!!! AnyDVD is now the outdated ripper! Don't get me wrong though. My respect for AnyDVD is still highly regarded, but with RipIt4Me being the top ripper, I might have second thoughts about DVD ripping. AnyDVD still has a lot going for it including the background "driver", the CD decryption method and other abilities. Just updating the ripper part with FixVTS will bring the competition back to par.

Please tell me your joking right Ripit4me is so out dated. You must dont rip older DVD's like me because Rip does have a problem with older DVD's.

RipIt4Me works with all new protected DVD's. It is free and does just as well as AnyDVD. If you rip older DVD's there is no need for AnyDVD or RipIt4Me as Decrypter will still handle 90% of the rips.

Seems to me that if there were a legal problem having an AnyDVD/CloneDVD forum one would also have one with the DVD Shrink forum....

this is way i am sure why a clonedvd and anydvd forum can not be added

    # Guides

    * References how to use tools that allow circumventing copy protections will be removed
    * This means that guides converting AVIs to DVD, etc will remain intact.
    * This means that guides converting copy-protected DVDs to other formats will stay on our site, but the detailed instructions on how to use tools like DVD Decrypter, etc will be removed from those guides
    * Guides considering just how to break copy protections, will be removed (AFAIK, only one guide applies here)

    # Software section

    * Major changes. All tools meant solely for DVD ripping and/or ripping copy-protected music CDs will be removed.
    * This is a major blow to us, as our site has one of the largest DVD ripping software collections on Earth. But the law is very clear with this one, tools like SmartRipper serve really only one main function -- ripping copy-protected DVDs -- and are therefore illegal from 1st of January, 2006.

    A few other suggestions:
    1. Make it truly "AnyDVD". By this, I mean that it could add an ISO ripper so it could not just rip movie DVDs, it could also rip and take the copy protection away from PC/XBOX/XBOX 360/PS2 (and so forth) game (DVDs).
    2. After the ripping is done, open up DVD Shrink.
    3. Have an auto-update option where it would automatically download the latest version of AnyDVD without having to manually download and install it. Or, it could have an anti-copy protection signature update list (kind of like Norton's Anti-Virus signature updates).
    4. When you go and install AnyDVD, a dialouge box would pop up and ask if you would like to uninstall DVD43 or ripit (if it detects those programs). That would be very handy.
    5. What about a ripper "Queue". That way, when you have more than one DVD you want to rip, it does it for you so you don't have to waste your time doing it manually.
    Just some suggestions...

no all i mean is AnyDVD in itself doesn't warrant an entire forum (i don't think so is all) (and for anyone that knows me, knows i don'thave AnyDVD, but i know enough about it, just didn't think there's enough in it to warrant a whole forum). just my 5 pence, not against it as such

I am not sure AnyDVD needs a forum either, AnyDVD is a driver and there really is not much to using it. Just open and then use other programs. Usually the problems people are having are not with AnyDVD but in the other programs they are using, and if AnyDVD has a problem it is usually corrected with an update. My two cents USD.

If we think about opening one of these we should just open one forum room for both programs. At the moment its doin fine going the one click transcoder forum or other rooms we get to them.

I just downloaded the trial version of anydvd and clone2 when I backed up a couple of my dvds they would only play in my computer. Not my dvd player. Is this because it is the trial version or is there a setting that I am missing? Thanks...
