I have a question here. I made a copy of Warcraft III with clonecd and it worked just fine. A week ago, I purchased a new computer and attempted to run the same game but it won't play. It installs but doesn't play. I went back to my old pc and it works on that one. What is up?!! Do I need clonecd installed on the new pc for it to work or am I running into some compatibility problems. Thanks for your help. SC2
Are you sure you didn't have any emulation sotware installed? (Alcoohl 120%, Daemons Tools) CloneCD installs CloneCD TRay, which has the 'Hide CD-R Media' capability. It helps playing some 'working' backups because it bypasses ATIP check (but the error should have occurred during installation, too). You can try re-installing CloneCD and have 'Hide CD-R' running on system tray (it's the default installation).
Nope, I don't have anything installed in the new pc other than the essentials (winamp, musicmatch, office, etc.). So basically, I do need clonecd installed in order to run copied cds. Thanks for the reply.
Did you read the image with sub-q data? The "hide cd-r" option applies to Safedisc, [bold] not [/bold] SecuROM. What brand name drive were you successful playing the backup and what brand name drive were you unsuccessful? Shoey
