Avoiding a CloneCD Virtual CD-ROM Drive Blacklisting If a copy protection detects a Virtual CD-ROM Drive it will not run the game. The CloneCD VCD has been blacklisted since SecuROM 4.84.69.0071 Blacklisting has been around since the early versions of Daemon Tools 3. Over the last year, Alcohol 120% has suffered the same fate. Only a VCD can be blacklisted. ATIP hiding tools are not blacklisted. 1) Uninstall the VCD. Uninstall CloneCD if you have to; before doing that, make sure you have your CloneCD serial handy. 2) Search the registry(Start>run>search files)) for ElbyVCD.dll and ELBYVCD.sys files and delete them. 3) You may have to do it in Safe Mode - if so, you haven't uninstalled the VCD correctly nor properly CloneCD:http://www.slysoft.com/en/download.html Shoey __X_X_X_X_X_[small]Certified Computer Technician http://www.afterdawn.com/general/legal.cfm Mobo: MSI KT4VL-6712 CPU: AthlonXP Barton 2500+ Ram: 512 SD-DDR (PC-2700) nVidia GeForce4 MX440-8x Maxtor ATA\133 80 gig hd DVD-ROM: LiteOn LTD 165H CDRW: Memorex52MAXX 2452[/small]
Shoey You're the one that convinced me on CloneCD over Alc120 a while ago here at Afterdawn.. I've enjoyed it, but lately CDs won't copy [Velvet Revolver] and it is detected like you said by games [D00M3]. Thanks for the info on the update, it should definitly help. Can't wait for the the new version!
Are you basically saying that if you find and delete ElbyVCD.dll and ELBYVCD.sys you will avoid the "CD emulation has been detected. Program will shut down." messages? After uninstalling CloneCD the messages seemed to have gone away. Are deleting these dlls really necessary?
