found out i have just bought a cloned starview, after parting with the cash did a bit of research (i know wrong way round) the box is working fine got all the channels i was after. do these boxes have more problems than originals? not sure about this sort of stuff any help would come in handy cheers

Are you sure its a clone ? If it is , well you need to get api ver 4.00 off it immedially as it will blow it Count the vents on top 18x7 = Clone 25x7 = Genuine Also you can go here to see some pics http://www.freewebs.com/dooby2oon You will need a null modem cable DB9F to DB9F. All firmware/loader can be found in the link at the end of my post marked Eamos Library. You will need the GTromloader, (Starview Software Uploader), found in the Starview software folder of the link. You will need version 4.00 firmware for GENUINES found in "Starvi*w" firmware folder. You will need version 2.57_FIXED firmware for CLONES found in "Starvi*w" firmware folder. And please download the Starview PDF guide,(similar instructions, this will give you step by step instructions on how to do everything.This can be found in the Starview Documentation folder in the link.
