hi. I started using CloneDVD to burn my dvds and for some reason, it causes a weird burning pattern on the bottom of dvd, a pattern of rings it looks like. Usuallt it have a smooth surface with no pattern when i use nero. I burn at 4x speed. is it normal for cloneDVD to burn like that or is there a problem with the program?

CloneDVD works just fine. Are you multitasking while burning ie surfing the net or other computer chores? You should not even touch the mouse or keyboard while backing up.

Turn off all anti-virus, spyware & firewall software. Shut down any software that may be trying to auto-update itself or that is executing for any reason. If you have cable or DSL for an internet connection, disconnect the connection. If you use a telephone connection for the internet, are you talking on the phone while backing up? That voice signal is passing through your computer's modem while you are on the phone.

My point is that backing up is an intensive process of ripping and then burning 4-8 GB of data transfer which must be perfect. Don't even look at your computer while backing up.

I tried that and it still burned the dvd with the wave of circles on the dvd, not a smooth layout. i even burn it at the recommended speed of 4x and 2.4x. should i just go back and use nero again?
