I want to try to burn with the CloneDvD/AnyDvD combination, because it seems highly recommended. However, I tried to install the new version of AnyDVD and get clone DVD and I got this error during the installation mode:

    Error opening file for writing:
    "C:/Windows/system32/ElbyCDIO.dll"
    Hit abort to retry
    Ignore to skip...

    Can anyone help?

Addional question - Originally I was burning fine with DVD Shrink & Nero (w RegionFree in the background). But when I had to reinstall Nero (trial version) everything went wrong. Is there a way to get an older version of Nero (that I was told works well with Shrink) with a free trial. I don't mind paying for any software, but I dont want to spend a dime until I know that it burns with ease.

Do what laddyboy said and as for AnyDVD & CloneDVD did you have a license key?
Or is this just a trial, cause to update all you have to do it download and it installs the newer program over the old.

Thanks a lot for your help. I really appreciate it.

It won't let me download this version of Nero unless I have a serial number. As I mentioned, I never purchased Nero. I don't mind paying for it, but I want to make sure it works fine first. Is there a way to test out this version of Nero for free, then I'll buy it? What do you recommend I do?

Also, I have DVD Shrink 3.2 Is this the right version that works automatically with Nero?

Right version of Shrink. Make sure you have "Burn with Nero" selected.

Yes thank you, but what about my Nero question. For this downlaod to work, I need a serial number. Is there any way to test out Nero Burn 6.6.0.18 (w DVD Shrink) for free? I don't want to buy it until I know it works.

The trouble you may be running into is that you previously had a trial or regular version of Nero installed and there is something in the registry indicating that so it won't let you redo the trial. Run the Nero 6/Nero7/General Clean Tools and then try searching for Nero in your registry and deleting anything that concerns it and maybe it'll load as a trial. If you're just looking for a program that'll burn DVDs, just use ImgBurn. It's free and DVD Shrink will autoburn with it. Imo Imgburn is a superior DVD burner to Nero and causes fewer problems.

laddyboy - Thank you for the help with ImageBurn. I really appreciate it. However, I still seem to be having problems. I tried DVD Shrink w/ DVDDecryptor and then with ImagBurn and both failed. I'n not sure what the problem is? Here is the ImagBurn Log:

    Hi.

I really dislike Ricoh media which is what you're using. Have you tried a different media like Verbatim or made in Japan labeled Fuji or Sony.

I'd also up the burn speed to 4X.

Have you searched for a firmware update. I typed HP 840b into the search at HP.com and got firmware HJ86 which is newer than your current firmware HI86:

    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...tem=dv-39047-1&product=1101461&dlc=en&lang=en

Try increasing the burn speed to 4X and update the firmware. Hopefully that'll solve the problem. If that doesn't, try a different brand of media.
