could that be my issue? What my issue is, is that I bought an external BenQ1655 with a USB 2.0 external usb adapter. The thing is is that my laptop doesn't have usb 2.0 Has anyone heard of that being a reason why transfer speeds are slow.

What I mean by that, is that it takes a good 54min-90min to copy the movie, then another 90min to burn the darn thing. I updated the firmware, reinstalled the software, reformatted my laptop and checked the DMA settings. Everything is still the same. What I am wondering about that could be causing my speeds to be so slow is because the USB. Could that be?

It didn't happen on my other PC too. That is the only that I can think of now.

PS. there is a new firmware out there that was released last month. (BCIB) I think.

USB-1 is very slow and transfer time will be unduly long when compared to other modes of data transfer.

I gotta be honest with you, I never even thought about that conversion and I don't know why. That completely slipped my mind. I am on my way to go purchase one of those right after work.

    Thanks mackdl
