I downloaded CloneDVD2 in December 2005 and tried using it to make copies of a DVD. I was unsuccessful with CloneDVD and other programs. Must have been the quality of the Master DVD. Anyway, I saw that the new CloneDVD2 says it has enhanced it to better copy a defective Master DVD. So I downloaded the new vesion of ConeDVD2 and figured I'd give it another try. I keep getting the error message "You've exceeded your trial period". I tried the help desk for CloneDVD2 and they said that is the way it is, I cannot try the new vesion since I tried the old version and did not buy it. Seems like this is not the way to get me to buy the new version unless I am sure it will work. The old version did not work for any DVD I tried to copy. I assume it was the quality of the original DVDs since everone on this site raves about CloneDVD2. I would like to try the new version. There must be a way to clear out the old version from my PC so I can download the new version and try it. I tried doing RegEdit and deleting anything I found that said CloneDVD2 but still to no avail.
Either buy the program, or reformat you computer there is not any other way to use the program once you have exceeded your trial period.
CloneDVD 2 will not, by itself, copy a protected DVD. You must use an additional program to remove all current protections. AnyDVD, DVD43, FabDVDDecrypter, etc., are some of the commonly used ones.
I was using ANYDVD along with CloneDVD2 when I was getting faulty copies. Not being able to try it again seems like a flaw in the CloneDVD2 marketing plan. I was unable to get a successful copy previously so why would I but it. I should get another shot at a program that everyone says is so terrific.
You successfully used the trial period. You tried, it did not work for you, for what ever reason, and you did not buy it. As it should be. Since it did not work for you the first time I doubt that it would if you tried it again unless you have changed something major in your routine or programs. There are many alternatives to CloneDVD2 and some are even free. Since I don't know anything about why your burns failed, I can't begin to any offer suggestions. Good luck.
As I have said I feel that the program did not work because the original DVD was not perfect. The new CloneDVD2 advertisement says that they have enhanced it to copy less than perfect DVDs. So I thought trying it again was worth a shot. I am a computer programmer by trade and I do not believe that there is not a way to delete some file from somewhere that would allow me to download the new version and try it. Someone along the way ib this thread said that if I reformatted my hard drive I could download the new version and try it so that proves that there is something hidden somewhere on my hard drive that knows I have tried it before and will not allow me to try it again. Apparently what I have been reading there are a lot of questionable DVDs being sold that are not perfect. So the enhancement CloneDVD2 made sounds like the logical thing to do.
As you have probably read here and perhaps on CDFreaks board, many people have had great success with CloneDVD 2 when used in tandem with AnyDVD, both Slysoft products. The enhancement of adding a ripper in the new update to AnyDVD probably is most useful for corupt DVD discs.....
Afterdawn Members do not support trying to "hack" or "crack" the programs. Then they just don't want it, or, they don't want to pay for it. I am firm on this issue myself and I believe the Majority of Afterdawn Members here will agree with me 100% on this one. AnyDVD & CloneDVD together has been the Best 2 back-up programs out there. You'll find Many a Successful Burn post with these. Ther ARE Free software tools one can use if that's what one wants is Totally Free for l;ife. But don't expect these to work as well, or be constantly updated like Slysoft has Proven that they do. Slysoft deserves to be paid for their Expert Knowlege in their Field. Just like anyone else that works hard at their job.
Pay what they want and get the full version of clonedvd and anydvd you won't be disappointed.. It's all I use now and maked perfect copies of originals and quailty is GREAT!! slysoft.com save your licence to your hard drive and make a back up of it onto cd so, if anything happens in the future you can reload with no problem.. nothing i can't copy and you can get rid of all the crap on the origianl you don't want..
I have to agree that you should buy clonedvd2, it is an awesome program. Every DVD i have tried to burn so far was a success.
Hello all I am a newbie to all of this. If you can tell me how much does it cost for clonedvd2 and anydvd from slysoft. I am not able to look that up from were i am from. I have a Computer 900 magahurts with AMD and Windows me. What type of DVD burner is recomended for me to buy and make full backups for my dvd movies. Thanks in avance for all the help.
