clueless on divx to mpeg conversion

    I have looked everywhere and cant seem to find some basic directions (for a newbie like myself) on what to do with a divx file. When I get the file on my pc, I hear sound but no picture. I have TMPGEnc, and I hear I need the divx codec - but I dont know what to do with it (do I download it into tmpgenc? - and then what do I do??) Sorry - I am clueless with these divx files. Thanks alot for any help!! ~D

    Download GSpot or AviCodec, that will tell you exactly what codecs you need to play the file!

    Ok its really easy. You need to download the latest DivX codec, or just get FFDSHOW, then install it (just run the file you download) and you should then be able to watch your DivX files in windows media player.
