    I have a lg cd writer 8x write 4x rewrite 32 read (i think its a 8080b)and primarly use cd mate as my burning software it used to work fine but i find it is making an awful lot of coasters lately.

    anyone know the best settings to burn with?
    can anyone reccomend any other software

    i also use clone cd 4

    There must be some rogue software running in the background - have you got any antivirus on ? NAV Auto Protect for example ALWAYS creates coasters (unless Burn proof or similar tech. is used)

    i have when running cd mate but i have always run it and have only recently started having probs

    i run clone cd on my win98 drive (i have 2 hardisks 1 with win98 and 1 with xp)

    Well Nero and Easy CD Creator should be your choice for data CDs, Feurio for Audio CDs and GNU VCD Imager/VCD Easy for Video CDs.

    Do u get coasters when using CDMate only? Under Win 98 only ? Please elaborate.

    no its usally cd mate and its on xp

    although clone cd coasterd yesterday on win98 think it was something to do with the hardrive it did sound like it crashed but i ran scandisk on full surface scan and found nothing.

    i think clone cd coastering was a oneoff
