hi i have call of duty 4 for pc and i was playing through the single player campaign with no problems then i decided to play multiplayer online. But when i click on the game i want to join it says my cd key is already taken. This is weird because it says the key is valid when i put it in, in the options menu. I have tried about 10 different keys now and about 8 said that they were valid. I also enabled punk buster so thats not the problem, is there somewhere i'm supposed to put my cd key in, thanks.
This is a skatey issue. You can't use the generated keys. No matter how many you put in, they won't work. You cant play your COD4 online. There is a solution. Put one of your non-working keys in. Then go here, download and then make an account. Then go here and make an account. Then go here and "Download the latest call_of_duty_4_qtkr_servers.txt file" as is on the page. Then go back into the HLSW client, log in if you haven't already done so, then go to Server List>Multi Server Insert and copy and paste all the servers form the .txt file. You should be done but if you have problems yo might need to set your game path. On HLSW go to Settings>Settings... and find your COD4. Set the correct path, make sure PunkBuster is enabled within HLSW and Bob's your uncle. If you have anymore problems post back. -James
