Hello, I make DVDs from Avi and Dat format movies sometimes. My problem is that i notice on recent movies i made that the sound is really low and i have to turn my stereo up really loud. I was wondering if someone could tell me a fix for this and also can someone tell me what are the best codecs to use to play all video formats?

Hard to say what went wrong since you didn't really explain what you did.

Best codecs for decoding? Really depends on what it is encoded with, plus what you consider more important like say quality vs. CPU load.

Just install them. They know what to do from there.

They don't need to be installed in any particular order either...Good Luck.

Windows can play mpeg1, mp2 audio and dat (as in a dat file from a VCD) out of the box. No need to install anything.
