So i'm light modding my Xbox where the jewel is. I cut out a hole and yadda yadda. However, i'm planning on using a 80mm cold cathode tube from a case fan to produce the light and I feel like it's a bit too hot to have in the box. Does anyone know of an adhesive or foam or psuedo heat sink to decrease the amount of direct heat this cathode puts out? Something like coating it in hot glue (i have no idea if that would work). I just feel like it's going to warp the box or crack my paint job or something similar. Any suggestions?

Also, has anyone had any problems with the cold cathode frying on you? I've heard they arent too reliable and sometimes nuke themselves.

(btw, i'd do an LED mod but the cold cathode light distribution is so much more appealing and even)

    Thanks!!

as hot as your xbox gets, if it doesnt warp your case, a light isnt going to do it. you can do LED's and make them look as even as a cathode, if your good at it.

Hi, I use to have a cold cathode and I use tinfoil for the heat. But! I wouldn't recommend Cold Cathode, mine Caught on fire!
