Ok I know how to MUX subs into a avi file but it seems SRT is limited ,dose ogg or mkv have any easy to use GUI programs where I can make a Vid,put my audio streams in it then have a sub stream as well? I have made a few vids and tested them on the new klite codec pack, both media palyer classic and VLC report no sub when I used VdubMOD to mux a str stream into it but finds the aduio streams ok when I used AVImuxGUI it finds everythign but they are not named right they are generic? Could soemoen point me to a any programs that would help me?
VDubMod can't mux subs to avi's. For mkv's download mkvtoolnix and use mmg/mkvmerge. Ogg writ isn't finished yet, so you can't have subs in an ogg file. Theora isn't exactly ready for prime time anyway.
celtic_d Yes you can put SRT into streams useing VdubMOD but its iffy I got it to work befor ^^ Bascily what I am looking for is a muxer that will let me name streams and such, also one thats sub friendly would be nice, I have lots of ogg files that have subs in them same for MKV. I got Sub station alpha to use colored subs but the back ground is boxed and I want the background clear >< are thier any other sub programs besides SUbworkshop I could use?
You can mux srt's with VirtualDubMod, just not to avi. The ogg files you have if they have subs aren't ogg files, they are ogm files. ogm != ogg. Softsubs display depends somewhat on the renderer. For instance using <font> tags you can have coloured srt's in MPC, presumbably also directvobsub. Some other renders may actually display the font tags as text though. Others will just ignore them.
