i want to combine several vcd's and burn them onto one dvd but still have it play as a huge 4gb vcd on my dvd player. any ideas?
I suppose you didn't read http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/multiple_svcd_on_dvdr.cfm which can be aplied to both VCD and SVCD movies. Open the VCD movies with Womble-VCR. First use Tools_MPEG system de-multiplexer and demultiplex the mpeg movies (mpg = mpv + mpa), then load , in DVD Lab (you can use the simplest the simplest 'movie only' template , unless you want to learn to add chapters), the de-multiplexed pieces. When you load a .MPA @44.1 kHz with DVD Lab, which will ask you to it it can transcode it to 48 kHz for you. After that, righ-click the left menu and add a new movie. On movie2... movieN repeat the process. When you've filled the room on a DVD-R stop, compile the DVD and burn. In that DVD you have the same VCD movies with the only slight change that you changed their audio from 44.1 kHz to 48 kHz (DVD standard).
my dvd player(bought 4 years ago)can play jpg/mp3/mpg/dat files in a data dvd. So, i don't like to spend time to compile several vcds to a dvd. Just copy all of dat files from vcds to my hard disc ,and then, drag them into Nero to burn a data dvd. because i burn in multi-session way, i can burn a disc in many times until it's full. Although, there is no dvd menu, my player show me a file browser for selection. It's pretty! You can try this way.
