Hi all! I have a problem that reading through all the previous threads has not been able to solve. I have downloaded many copies of C&C Generals disk 1......iso's as well as a few .bin/.cue files. (Off p2p software) I have successfully been able to burn disk 2, but disk 1 is downloaded with safedisk 2X. So, I have tried to burn this to CD-R following the directions in previous threads, but it still gives me an error and ClonyXXL tells me Safedisk2X is still there. I have an LG 8080B CDRW drive. Could this be the problem? If not, how the hell can I burn this disk without including that copy protection? Thanks in advance to all who respond! I believe your LG burner is considered a "1 sheep burner" (EFM Encoding) so you'll need to use Alcohol 120 1.4.3.518. Burn the image using the Safedisc 2 datatype and select RAO DAO and burn at 8x. After burning insert your backup in your [bold] LG cdrw, NOT your dvd\cd-rom [/bold] and choose "ignore media type" in emulation. [bold] Run Alcohol 120 in system tray (startup) [/bold] and your backup "should" play. I checked out your burner at CloneCD's supported burners website and much to my amazement, your LG doesn't write RAO DAO mode m8. Select DAO SAO and follow instructions I previously posted. Don't be surprised if your backup doesn't work m8. Also, consider a burner that writes RAO DAO (96) such as the new Lite-ON 52\32\52 cdrw. http://www.elby.ch/en/products/clone_cd/writers/h.html#hitachi ----------------------------------------------- [bold] Lite-On LTR-52327S Features [/bold] Innovated SMART-BURN technology to automatically check media quality and set limit to burning speed to ensure successful writing sessions & data retainability Buffer underrun error free & automatically adjust writing strategy plus running OPC to meet various burning condition SMART-X® supporting high-speed DAE & VCD extraction for copying and automatically decreasing speed to provide smooth & noise-free playback for CD Audio / VCD titles VAS® (Vibration Absorber System) to reduce vibration & noise during recording & reading Support Fixed Packet, Variable Packet, TAO, SAO, DAO, Raw Mode Burning & Over-Burn Support format of CD Family, CD-R & CD-RW media (up to 99 mins) Conforms to Orange Book Part 2,3, Volume 3: Ultra Speed & MMC2 commands Support Mt.Rainier Plug&Play Device with Emergency Manual Eject function E-IDE Interface, support up to Ultra-DMA mode 2 Use FlashROM supports internet firmware upgrade Specifications: Speed: 52x Write CD-R, 32x Rewrite CD-RW, 52x Read CD-ROM Speed Interface: ATAPI / E-IDE, support up to Ultra-DMA Mode2 (33.3MB/sec) Access Time: 80ms (typical) Buffer Size: 2MB Disc Format: CD/CD-R/CD-RW formats both 8cm & 12cm discs (up to 99 mins) MTBF (Life): 70,000 Hours Weight: < 1000g http://www.cdfreaks.com/news/7325 Shoey
Shoey, Okay....I bought that new Lite-on you mentioned above. Kick-ass drive buddy and I picked it up for $90.00 Cnd OEM. Anyway, I have the disk one .bin now what? Thanks
Damn m8, you already got the new Litey in your hands already (hehe). Ok,open image writing wizard and locate the C&C Generals cue and down near the bottom where it says file format type, choose CDRWin (bin& cue). Click next and choose Safedisc 2 datatype profile and burn RAO DAO at 8x. Your backup should play in your dvd\cd-rom& Litey [bold] WITHOUT [/bold] any emulation whatsoever. Shoey, I do not have the originals. I just have the .bin and .cue downloaded from p2p. So, I went image burning wizard, and opened the .cue image-raw/DAO/-write 8X-enable buffer underrun-bypass efm error Is this right??? Thanks again buddy
I'm not dead m8 (wipes sleep from eyes).. So were you able to install and play your backup? Bypass efm error [bold] need not checked [/bold] for your burner as your Litey corrects, or writes regular bit patterns [bold] correctly [/bold]. 1 sheep burners need this enabled as these type of burners [bold] almost [/bold] corrects regular bit patters correctly. Shoey, I do not have the originals. I just have the .bin and .cue downloaded from p2p. So, I went to image burning wizard, and opened the .cue. Chose image-raw/DAO/-write 8X-enable buffer underrun-bypass efm error unchecked Clonyxxl still shows 9 skulls and I am getting the install error at the same place in the install??? I haven't a clue......help! Thanks again buddy
Did you try and install your backup from your dvd\cd-rom& burner? What type of error are you getting when you install? [bold] Autorun [/bold] "should" be enabled m8. Did you try mounting the image(s) with 2 virtual stealth drives and install and play the backups? Try this as an alternative method by using emulation. Go to general>options>enable "ignore media type" then minimize Alcohol 120 to system tray (startup) and insert your backup in your [bold] Litey [/bold] and try and install and play your backup. If this fails we have the latest BlindWrite Suite 4.5 to test. Shoey
I think I am going to just go rent the original and try from there. I will let you know how that goes buddy, and thanks for all your help. I think my .bin file may be corrupt. It tells me it is however I can choose to ignore and continue; it goes until 100% then just sits there. It never asks for the 2nd disk. Dunno On the up-side, I have a hell of a lot of good quality coasters...hehehe Will message soon
