I was messing around with a bunch of region utils, before finding dvd shrink .. and when the dust settled .. when I play any dvd even commersial ones .. my dvd players say invalid format .. dvdinfo .. shows the drives region as ... NOT SET YET thanks in advance for any help .. mike
Using DVD Decrypter with a movie disk in the drive, you can verify if the region code for the drive is set (Information) or change the code (Change). Normally (for ripping) this setting would not be changed - it's only for playing back disks from another region with a media player that balks at playing disks that don't match the region of the drive. Be aware that you are only allowed to change the drive region setting five times:the last change is permanent and changing the setting should be approached with caution.
