ok i go the compaq Pesario V5201US thinking that it would be a pretty good laptop. That was a big mistake on my part because now that i got it the lap top has been running really slow. I can't even enjoy music or movies without them skipping. I already put in a extra 512 ram in and it still didn't make a differnce. Anyone know any suggestions to make it run smoother or anything? My Specs are: Mobile Amd Sempron 3300+ 2.0 gigz 640 mb ddr ram Windows Xp Professional Service Pack 1 ati radeon express 200m 80 gb hd I would install Service pack 2 but that only makes my laptop even slower.
Even an hp nx6110 with a 1.4Ghz celeron and 256MB RAM can play back videos without too much lag. Which program are you using? Have you installed any games on it?
check this link on your specs as is a bit different then what you posted. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...=ca&dlc=en&product=3184257&rule=11211&lang=en how much ram is being used by the videocard? does all your ram show up in system as have a customer that has 512meg in laptop but only 256meg showed. 2nd stick of ram was not inserted properly.
yeah the specs are basiclly the same exept the OS and yes my graphicz card is shared with the ram it shows that i have a full 640 mb ddr ram the other 128 s already being used by the graphics card. I also have installed little games like tales of pirates gunbound and ff8 but other then that not much on here i have around 24 gigs of memory left on my hd
newbie, I'm having the same problems. What else have you done to fix the slow running system. I'm looking at buying more memory, but what else should I do?
Hi, all other things being equal, check the task manager for processes running and eating up resources. Play your stuff and take a screen shot of the process tab in the task manager and post it. Also, do you have many icons in the bottom right side of your desktop? If you do, these are programs that are running and some will run in the background eating up memory and cpu time........
Compaq and other computers come with so much junk that runs in the background. Do yourself a favor, acquire a copy of Windows XP and do a fresh install. Now you wont have all that stuff clogging it up. It's like blackheads, clogging up your pores lol. Be sure you download your drivers first and burn them to a disk.
