Im not a fan of HP/compaq at all but I will reply. The specs look good but what is the price. If it is more than $600 I would keep looking. PCI express is suposed to be faster than AGP 8X but I have not noticed a difference except price. Radeon x300 is an older card. current ATI is x850 soon the x900. Home built systems is they way I go. You get better parts and a better computer. Price will be about the same but did I mention better hardware. In the end its up to you. I wouldnt pay more than 600 for it. I have a AMD64 3200 with a AGP X800 and 1 GIG kingston hyperx ram. All this sitting on an ASUS bord. I built it for about $700.

Just to remove any possible confusion. The price I gave was for system only not with a monitor or printer. My prices are also US.

overall looks not to bad,,,,, but dont pay to much for it,,,, it isnt quite worth it, if its real expensive.. but what will you be using it for?? gaming? office? and yes i prefer custom built comps, because then there are no advertisments on your comp, and you will learn morw about one...

I'll mainly be using it for DVD, Video, Music, Photos (basically media) in relation to burning, editing, recording etc...aswell as the usual things like Word, Internet etc. not so much gaming.

The thing is, where i live its hard to pick up a decent PC because of the distance i have to travel and the suppliers/shops here arent that great anyway!!

The only thing im really worried about is the AMD 64 bit processor and if it will be any good because as far as i know it works at around 2.00Ghz which i think isnt that good or is it?

    Thanx Liez4Love...

Looks like good specs, but I would stay away from HP/Compaq computers my self. I just did a little price look up at newegg.com and used those same specs and here is what I came up with..
    AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 2.0GHz 175.00$

    GIGABYTE "GA-K8NS Ultra-939 115.00$

    DDR PC3200, Model F1-3200PHU2-1GBZX 109.00$

ATI RADEON X300 Video Card, 128MB DDR 78.00$

    200GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive 118.00$

    16X Double Layer DVD+/- RW Burner 47.50$

    16X DVD-ROM Drive 21.50$

    ATX Mid-Tower Case 400W Power Supply 25.50$

    TOTAL 689.00$

So you could actually get a better computer for half the price you are going to pay for that computer. I am not sure of your options where you live though, but you may want to look around on line and find someone who will deliver to your area.

go with 2 sticks of ram as 1 might go bad still have a working 1 till bad 1 replaced. also get a clone computer as easier to upgrade & fix as some compaq & dell use proprietory parts like psu & motherboards which means you have to use their replacement expensive parts & not cheaper clone parts
