I decided to put my old PC3 in the bedroom to work as a TV. I bought an used AGP, AIW 128 PRo TV tuner card with a VGA for the monitor. With the old CRT monitor, it was working fine( after a lot of trial and error to get it there). I recently came into some money and since my room is so small, I opted to treat myself to a nice compact 19"LCD monitor which has the dual hook ups, VGA,DVI. The monitor works nicely as a PLUG'n Play but as soon as I install the driver for the tuner, the resolution is large and terrible. Something like what happens when in Safe mode. Right now it is connected to an AGP video card and is working. I did try using the tuner and a PCI video card but that didn't work. I think the problem is that the computer only has 733MHz and the maximum RAM of 768mb. So is the problem that a larger CPU is required? I was also thinking of getting just a plain PCI tv tuner card, but would like to know if that would work, before spending any more money, even if it's not much, only to find that doesn't work either. (please ignore any incorrect terminology). Any help will be appreciated. BK
well TV resolution is very low compared to that of a PC monitor. If your graphics card can't upscale resolutions your screen will have to run at TV resolution, 640x480, which is indeed the res of safe mode.
