I have a 16x LiteOn DVD burning which burns DVDs fine in most cases. However in some cases when I try to play DVDs on my DVD player the DVDs skip or freeze in other cases they work perfectly.

I was wondering if the cause of this problem is because I am buring the DVDs on too high of a speed or are the 16x DVD+R faulty?

Recommended is half what the media burn speed reads, i.e. 16x should be done at 8x. One of the reasons for skipping/freezing and pixellation is burning to fast, slow it down and you should have no problems.

Edit: and also make sure the media you are using is good, Verbatim, MIJ Sony, Fuji or Maxell.
