Getting a Nintendo DS in my opinion ia definately worth it.
Playing Movies and/or Music is not an option to you out of the box.
But with many add-on products available from many online sites it would be possible. Mario is just one of the reasons that yous should get a NDS........go to the nintendo website and check out their long list of stellar games.

there is a menus screen with a clock and the date and it has options for picto-chat and download annd play, and you can choose between playing a GBA game or a DS game, or it boots the DS game automatically, depending on how you have it configured

As for playing movies there are such devices as the m3, then you can play movies but you have to convert them, and for me they go out of sync with the audio, so its nothing impressive. most people buy the m3 so they can play backups of games.

    Hope this Helps

My sister has the DS Lite, and it's nothing really impressive that sticks out about it or anything . The PSP basically does everything right out of the box, and the graphics are way better. They're both great handheld consoles, though. I had a PSP, but sold it becuase I got and iPod Video and didn't really use the PSP so I traded it in along with some other consoles to get a 360.

DS is better IMO. PSP is more expensive, games take FOREVER to load, battery life is 1/3 of the DS's, you dont have inovative features like the mic and touch pad (theres, nothing like blowing zombie spit back in their face in RE). plus you can play GBA games on the DS.

Dont get me wrong, i WAS a huge sony fan, but they have dropped the ball and really pissed me off with their attitude with the PS3... so Nintendo FTW! The Wii will rock the game market.
