I have installed a Xecuter 3 CE with the solderless adapter on a V1.3 Xbox. I am completely stuck at this point, I boot to the Flash Bios 3.01 screen . with 4 options Network flash, Bios from Disk, and Bios from hard drive. I have the original hard drive connected still. I have tried linking up to my computer with a crossover cable but times out all the time, and the only sign of anything on the TV from my Xbox is the letter bbbbb, but wont connect on my computer using explorer, smartftp, or coreftp. So I tried from a CD/RW disk tried the Evox M8 Bios, changed it to BIOS.Bin and put a 40 Mb dummy file on the disk, created an ISO with craxtion, and burned with Roxio using my DVD burner. I have a Samsung DVD in the Xbos and everytime it says no BIOS found....halted. I am completely totally stuck I have tried every method I could fiund on any board so any help would be great.

Craxtion...that doesn't work on a bios disk, and I don't know anything about roxio apart from it didn't work for me.
The way to go is just to add the files as a normal compilation with nero or alcohol120. The files need to be called bios.bin and dummy.bin. If you check the disk after burning you could well find that the burning prog is renaming them bios.bin.bin and that's why it isn't finding it. You should also try to find a proper xecuter3 bios X3 3294 is the best, but 3284 works well too. These are 1 meg so check the bank switching.

Ok..heres a good guide to the X3 that you can download and keep..It's got a list of the bank switching included.. bios I get from eurasia,nu but you need to sign up to download anything. They are fast with your confirmation mail so that's cool

ok I have gotten my xbox and computer to link up now, I think my crossover cable was bad, so now I am using a router. I have gotten to the flashing screen in internet explorer. I was finally able to log onto the ftp site to get the latest BIOS 3294, I extracted the 3294.BIN file and renamed it BIOS, but now when I try to flash I get Unknown Flash! Halting? I tried messing with the banking switches and everything even unplug the switches from the mod chip to use the default banks, I have the switch set on the chip so the green LED is lit up which according to the chip board means unprotect, any idea what I am doing wrong now?

Errm..not sure. I'll have a think and get back to you. In the meantime try both caps and small for the file name. I seem to remember something about it needing renaming in dos, but I don't network flash because it's just too hard. It could be a firewall problem or anything. Try it from your cd-rw with a nice big dummy file about 200MB

well wonder of all wonders, want to know what finally worked????? Setting the switch to PROTECT, for some reason I think they are switched up on the chip. Once I set the chip to protect it flashed and 20-30 seconds later I was in the BIOS 3294. Can you believe that? Thanks for all the help that should be the end of this thread for me. I may have to start a new one in a while but been trying to flash for a week. I was screaming YES like my favorite football had just won the super bowl LOL

Great.. I'm pleased it worked. I never came across that one before. One to remember thanks. Give me a shout if you need any more info, or just post on the back end of this thread again.. I keep them stickied for a few days. Have fun now.
