The more you compress, the lower the video quality will be. Some reduction in quality from compression is not terribly noticeable especially if using the enhanced algorithms. Once you go below the 80% threshold you'll really start to notice a decline in quality using Recode or DVD Shrink. Of course a lot depends on the original video quality before compression.
The really problem is when i add my video en nero vision that was 4.3GB in avi format, Nero Vision Automatically Compress at 1.30 GB do you know how can i change this.
You said you were adding a 4.3GB AVI. If you're converting to a DVD compliant file, then you're converting from mpeg4 to mpeg2. mpeg4 is a more highly compressed video format than mpeg2 so in converting to mpeg2, the resulting file size will be around 3.5 times larger, meaning a lot of compression will be required to fit the same stuff on 1 disk.. I think what you may be doing though is converting a DVD (mpeg2) to an mpeg4 AVI and just maybe stated it incorrectly in your post. In that case the AVI will be a little less than 1/3 the size of the original file because mpeg4 formats like divx, xvid, and others use more compression. In this case there won't be a lot of change in video quality as long as the original was of sufficient quality. The quality can be adjusted by adjusting the bitrate. In Nerovision, click mon the Export button. Then choose the export template, e.g., AVI. Next select the type of compression (e.g. divx) to use under Video Compressor, and then click the Configure... button to change settings like bitrate, # of passes, etc.
