COMPUTER AUDIO PROBLEM

Recently purchased a vista 64 bit laptop. having volume problems with dvd playback. volume is very low although all systems read at 100%. contains realtek hd audio. i've tried so many different things i don't know where i'm at.
any help would be appreciated. thanx

 

I don't run Vista.
Have you looked to see if you have the latest drivers.

Thanx attar, but the realtek site says i should check with my motherboard site which is asus. the asus site has a download wizard but it appears to only be for xp users.

 

When you run mp3 or CD playback, is the volume normal? That is, is it good enough?

 

After trying everything I purchased a program called driver detective. after running it the sound was fine. i believe a driver needed to be updated.
