    Hi.

I have the following problem: My computer freezes completely at random intervals no matter if it's running idle or at heavy load.
I first assumed it was attributed to Vista, but after I switched back to XP it still did the same. Now, I'm sure it isn't because of overheating, considering that the case temp lingers around 35 degrees celsius and CPU at around five degrees higher.

    Specs of the rig:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 @ 2.4GHz with Scythe Ninja rev.B CPU cooler and 120mm Scythe S-Flex fan
ASUS P5N32-SLI Premium (NForce 590 Intel chipset)
    2x 1024MB PC6400 Kingston ValueRam DDR2 DIMM
    Club3D GeForce 8600GT 512MB passive
    2x 250GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.10
1x 500GB Western Digital Caviar SE
    Seasonic S12 430 watt PSU
Housed in Antec P180 case with 4 Scythe S-Flex 120mm fans

it can be anything from software to hardware

if you havent played with the hardware than it's your operating system or something you added after

if its the OS run recovery without format but you'll have to re-install other programs to make them functional (ie: firefox)

if it's a program that you have added after all i do it's start uninstalling from the most possible one

anti-virus programs freeze it too if you have more than one installed..they fight each other..only have one installed

if it's hardware then strip it to bare min. and start adding a component at a time with reboot and usages in between

    good luck
