First, disable TeaTimer because it may interfere with fixes. Please leave it off until all fixes are complete. Open Spybot-S&D Go to the Mode menu, and make sure "Advanced Mode" is selected On the left hand side, choose Tools -> Resident Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts. Restart your computer. Download VundoFix to your desktop. Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it. Click the Scan for Vundo button. Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button. You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo. When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK. Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a fresh HijackThis log.

The computer is running much better. Thanks for the tip on removing the programs running at startup. I took the opportunity to remove alot of the old software that I am not using anymore. Ok, looks clean, but there may be more. First, go here and download [bold]CCleaner[/bold]. [bold]Note[/bold]: If you do not want Yahoo! Toolbar uncheck the option when installing. Close all windows. Open CCleaner. Click "Run Cleaner". After cleaning, click "Issues". Click "Scan for Issues". After scannning, click "Fix selectes issues...". When prompted to backup registry, click "Yes". Then, go here and click Kaspersky Online Scanner. Accept the terms. After downloading, click My Computer. After scanning click "Save report as". Save as a text file. Post the Kaspersky log and a new HijackThis log.

Didn't like to see that. Run Ewdio and Spybot in safe mode(press F8 upon boot, select "Safe Mode" from menu). Ewido first. After a complete system scan set all itmes to "Quarantine". Click "Apply all actions". Then click save report and save it to the desktop. Then, run Spybot. Restart and post the Ewido report.

Note: print these instructions or copy to Notepad and save it, you will be in safe mode and can't access the internet. Restart your computer in safe mode(press F8 upon boot, select "Safe Mode" from menu and press Enter). Open Killbox.exe. Check "Standard File Kill". After I ran the Spybot in safe mode and rebooted and posted the reply, I went to work. Now I'm home, nobody touched the computer, and I'm getting a (Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM I don't know if Spybot deleted something it wasn't supposed to, or if something else happened. When I get a Windows XP CD, I'll boot up to it and try and restore it. I need to move my files and maybe I can do an OS install on top of everything so I don't lose my files. Any suggestions? Thanks
Spybot didn't delete anything, that happened to me too. You can still recover some files but you will have to use the boot cd.
One of the infections could have caused this after deletion. The recovery disc should bring things running back to normal. Run KillBox when you can and post a new HijackThis log, hopefully all infections are gone now.
