Hello! Recently I had to have a new modem from AOL as the last one broke, this time though they had sent one which connects throught an ethernet port, which the pc didn't have. So I was willing to try and install it myself, so I bought the card and installed it and put the drivers in. It worked fine for a good few hours and the PC had no problems. The next day the PC keeps freezing up every so often and has to be restarted. It seems to happen at random sometimes when the computer can't cope with the programs or just randomly. It can range between the time it takes to crash from 20 minutes to 2 hours. I must admit the PC is old at six years but it worked fine before I put the ethernet card in and I am just holding on until Windows Vista is released then I'll get that. I must admit I had never installed any other hardware before but I am sure I didn't damage the PC when I opened it. I can't wait until Vista is released as its an excuse to get a new PC, Please Help! Thank You for your help.
I would pull the cover off and make sure that you did not accidentally unplug the fan for the CPU heatsink. Make sure that all fans are plugged into their respective power sources and are spinning when the PC is on. ~Rich
