I recently started having trouble with my computer, first it makes a clicking sound a couple of times then it either freezes or resets itself.I have a 80gb drive(system)and a 300gb drive(audio/video),so people have told me its the hardrive but,I checked them both and did a brand new installation of xp pro and still it does the same thing, does anybody have any suggestions, ideas, info, anything that may help me.

try isolating the clicking noise as possible is your c:drive might be on it's last legs & fresh install won't show that problem. download & run the diagnostic software from the hd manufacturer(s) to see what it has to say about your hd's.

safe your info & run that program every so often as long as not destructive to the info on the hd. might consider rma'ing the drive if happens again.

well the computer keeps freezing on me I checked the drive and it says no errors, could it be something else.My friend said it might be that I need a more powerful PSU I currently have a 350w and I am running a P4 3.0E Oc to 3.6,ati radeon 9800 pro,dvd-rom drive, dvd burner,2gb pc3200 oc pc3500,2 hardrives,5 fans, soundblaster audigy 2,and 1 external harddrive, does anybody have any other ideas, also could the mobo actually just reset itself or freeze thanks

ok I used memtest on both 1gb sticks and they were fine but,one of the sticks had a missing(I don't know what you call it)gold plate could that make it malfunction and is there a way to test the mobo

run this program & add 30% to the total to see if psu is big enough or not. the missing gold contact on the ram, does it appear to be torn off or just not put on when the stick was manufactured? if have 2 sticks of ram than try using 1 at a time to see if still does it or not.

which program ddp? the ram looks like it was torn off,I also ran the memtest on each one of the sticks but, when i had them together it froze during the test,I still think my psu is not strong enough sometimes when I turn my computer on for the first time it needs to be reset, all the lights and the fans come on but, nothing on the monitor but after the reset it works fine
