Hi ya'll got a problem. Only started yesterday.

When i burn something to disc my computer keep shutting down and wont restart untill i unplug it. I had 5 GB of space free on my computer. Then when i put it back on i had 4GB. So i deleted some stuff and had 10GB free space and then tried to burn the movie again, same thing happend only this time there is 6GB free space.

    Anyone know whats causing it?

    thanks

the burn failure could be down the knackered power supply
the memory prob is due to the burn program saving it's work to harddisc before burning and when the pc freezes it doesn't get deleted

Nah, your PC will never shut down if it runs out of memory, even if the memory's faulty - in the latter case it would blue screen or restart. For the PC to shut down, either the PSU or motherboard will be at fault, the PSU is much more likely. Track down a decent quality unit from a local store - don't settle for any old crappy brand, as they only make the problem MUCH worse. Stick to Enermax, Corsair, Tagan, OCZ, Thermaltake, Seasonic or Antec.

You might also want to check to make sure your pc is not over heating...

You can download speedfan from here >> http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php and check out the temps. If they are ok try another power supply.

In regards to your missing space, your burning program is prob saving the temp files to your hd, so check your ripping/burning programs settings to see what is the location of the files it is saving and delete them.
