I went to use my computer the other day and I gave my mouse a little shock while it was running. Then it froze, when I went to restart it, it said there was a problem with my USB mouse? I pluged it into another USB port and now it will not do anything. When I turn it on it does nothing, no beep, no post screen, nothing. I am going crazy. I took out the USB mouse and put on a PS2 mouse and still it does nothing. I checked my vedio card, memory, and dvd-RW. They all work in my other computer. I even uesed almost all my money getting another motherboard still nothing. Only thing left i did not test is the CPU, Hard Drive, and power supply. I do not want to buy all of them any idea witch one it could be, or what it could be????? please help I don't have enough money to try and buy everything?

And the shock that you gave the mouse was? I bet that you won't do that again.

disconnect all cables to drives. remove all cards & ram except for videocard & 1 stick of ram. reseat those 2. clear the cmos chip. check the can shaped objects on the motherboard as they are capacitors, are they flat topped or domed?

By A little shock I mean static electricity , Um I did try to reset the coms that is why i got a new motherboard. All the fans work when i turn the power switch on my power supply on the led for hdd stays on with out blinking and that is it. The reset and power switches do nothing? I am starting to think maybe the CPU? I know the hard drive has nothing to do with the bios and post screen. Is there anything i might of over looked. Any ideas tests something like that? I am a electronics tech. and have a fair knowlege of compters. It's just I have never had this happen before and really would like to pen point the problem. I already wasted money on a new motherboard and nothing changed. Any ideas will be helpful. thank you.

Ok I found out what the problem was. It was my power supply. I got a new motherboard for nothing I feel so dumb. Anyway I guess i did not need to post this. Well i guess if anyone else zaps there mouse they will know what to check. I thought i was the power supply because after some time I left it on thinking and looking at it. Then i could smell something burning. My power light also was not on on the front of my computer. I freaked out and turn it off. When i got closer I could tell the smell was from the power supply. So I got another one and now it works. So happy nothing else when bad on it :)

    P.S.

Does anyone know that best dvd for buring are?
