computer problem

    I recently just discovered that my computer does not detect my cd rom drive or my dad burner...and i have no idea why? Can i do anything to fix this problem?

    how dear are those blank dads? i could do with a new one :)

    are all the wires correctly inserted?
    is the ide port enabled in your bios?
    is your bios detecting it?
    are the jumpers on the back of the drive correct?(master for 1st slave for 2nd)
