Hey, I have recently been having this problem on my computer where it will just randomly shut down and reboot. No warning or nothing. Just reboot. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks -Pat (redhatman)
Hey, Have you overclocked anything? Scan for viruses & adaware, scan in safe mode for best results. Also go to Control Panels, System, Advanced, Startup & Recovery setting and uncheck the box that says "Automatically Restart" (under System Failure) that will help if it's a windows prob. Also what is your PC specs?
check your cpu heatsink & fan to see if clean & spinning properly. check the canned shaped objects on your motherboard to see if they are flat topped not domed. try another psu. is it a random time for reboot or fixed time??
as far as I know, it is random. I tried p4_tt idea about the system failure and so far I havent had a reboot. Ill keep you up on the status.
ok, today it shut down at 1:20, then at like 2, and then it did like 3 shutdowns in a row within 5 minutes. I think it shuts down when it isnt processing enough. Wouldnt the "dont shut down on system failure thing cover that?
does it do it in safemode?? or try leaving it in the bios or boot off a dos disk to leave it alone to see if hardware or software problem.
