I installed Speed Fan hoping that controling the temperature would work but is not helping. I use XP SP2 and my PC is an AMD Athlon XP-1600 1.40 GHZ 1.25 GB Ram. Is not the newest computer but does the job at my office. Xp spotaneous reboots are usualy related to software or driver conflicts more so than hardware overheating, ram, etc this site will tell you how to turn this action off giving you a chance to get an error screen or log entry as to the reason http://www.helpwithwindows.com/WindowsXP/troub-03.html
Microsoft have a patch for the mrxsmb issue have a look here http://msmvps.com/blogs/bradley/archive/2004/11/04/17963.aspx but I dont think that is the cause of your reboot but install it anyway graphics drivers are a common cause do you have the latest installed ? Roxie cd creator was causing that reboot problem if you have try uninstalling it
