Yeah... I'm going into my senior year and I have no idea what college I want to go to or what I want to major in. Here's what might help narrow it down. I love music, more than the average person. I'm pretty sure I want to spend 10 or more hours in front of a computer (not a mac) a day. I've had some expirience with design programs such as Autodesk Inventor, and a few others. But I don't know if I want to get into design or programming or what. Any reccomendations?

If your into computers and music, have you considered audio recording? Whatever college your interested in check out the RTVF (Radio/Television?film) department and check out the audio production classes. I took them 6 years ago, got very into it, and I have been teaching it for the past three. The standard professional audio application is called Pro Tools by Digidesign. Worth checking out if you're into audio and are interesting in recording bands, or even post production like ADR (voice recording) or foley (sound effects.) There's tons of possibilities...

thanks, I'll check that out. I've been doing alot of music editing with programs such as wavepad, but I didn't think it would go anywhere.

naw stuff like that won't get ya nowhere. if you're into it, start looking into the pro audio software. the king is pro tools (but requires its own hardware), then there's also cubase, logic (if you're a tard that uses a mac), and reason. then there's looping software like fruity loops and acid pro dj if you're into that. there's all kinds of stuff out there

can't advise you with anything audio related, but as to the sitting in front of a computer for 10hours a day, i did 12 consecutive years of 12hour shifts in front of various computers, and now 5years of normal weekday hours in front of more computers and hopefully this is my last year doing this. but then i have been doing batch work/Unix etc etc, not something more productive such as audio :)
